The Chanhassen AutoPlex is known around the world for our amazing car condos.  Many of the 120 garage condominiums at the AutoPlex will be open for viewing. Coffee, beverages, and food will be available for purchase.

We welcome classic, collector, muscle, antique, street rod, exotic vehicles, and vintage motorcycles. This month the center of the campus will feature American muscle cars from Ford, Mopar, GM, Pontiac and etc. The public is also welcome to spectate the event and drive their everyday car. Gates open at 8:30 am.

Like all Chanhassen AutoPlex events, the July 2026 Cars & Caves car show is a family-friendly event that is free and open to the public.

Show Car Criteria

All collector, muscle, antique, street rod, exotic vehicles, and vintage motorcycles are welcome. The following car classes are admitted into the show area:

  1. Classic cars: Cars manufactured between 1925 and 1948 are still in original or restored condition.
  2. Collector cars: Cars that are at least 25 years old and have been restored or maintained in their original condition.
  3. Muscle cars: High-performance American-made cars produced between the mid-1960s and early 1970s.
  4. Antique cars: Cars that are at least 45 years old and are in original or restored condition.
  5. Street rods: Custom-built cars that resemble cars from the 1930s and 1940s.
  6. Exotic vehicles: High-performance sports and luxury vehicles are typically rare and expensive.
  7. Vintage motorcycles: Motorcycles that are at least 35 years old and are in original or restored condition.

NOTE: Due to limited space, we can only allow vintage or exotic import cars. All other import cars will be asked to park in spectator areas.

Please ensure that your vehicle is clean, polished, and free of damage or rust. We also ask that you arrive early to ensure that you have enough time to park and set up.

If you’re a car enthusiast but don’t have a vehicle that fits into one of these categories, don’t worry! The public is welcome to spectate the event and drive their everyday car. We will have plenty of space for parking and viewing the show, so feel free to come and enjoy the day with us.

Show Guidelines

To ensure the safety of all participants, respect our neighbors, and protect the future of this event, we kindly ask everyone to follow all traffic laws and maintain full control of their vehicles at all times. Your cooperation is essential to keeping this car show a positive experience for everyone involved.

Please follow these important guidelines:

  • Do not stand along the street where vehicles are exiting the show. This includes avoiding photography or videography from the roadside.
  • Do not challenge, taunt, or encourage drivers to rev their engines, accelerate aggressively, or perform burnouts.
  • Avoid generating excessive noise on the show grounds or surrounding areas.
  • Exit the event safely and at a controlled speed — reckless driving puts others at risk and reflects poorly on the show.

We ask for your respectful compliance with these rules so we can continue working in harmony with local residents and the broader community. Violations may result in a vehicle being banned from future shows — or worse, jeopardize our ability to host these events altogether.

Thank you for doing your part to keep this car show safe, enjoyable, and meaningful as we support local charities and bring the community together.
